Dubai is again proving that, when it comes to innovation, whether in the sky or the skyline, it just gets better. The Roads and Transport Authority has officially revealed an exciting update about the newest Dubai Metro Blue Line. It is a groundbreaking addition that is set to change the way people commute in the city and stay connected.
Once complete, the Dubai Metro Blue Line is anticipated to serve up to 1 million residents and visitors, helping alleviate transport challenges as the city's population rises. The project supports the city's strategy to provide more efficient and sustainable transport solutions for Dubai's dynamic population and growing business activity.
Featuring around 14 new stations, it is set to connect those neighbourhoods that currently rely on private modes of transport. The blue line will become a link to the city’s bustling residential and commercial hubs. With that, it will also directly connect to Dubai International Airport (DXB)
In 2029, which is going to be the 20th anniversary of the Dubai Metro, the Dubai Metro Blue Line is expected to reduce overall traffic congestion by up to 20%. It is a great and much-needed upgrade to ease the commuting experience of thousands of travelers and residents.
Two Routes Connecting
The new Dubai Blue Line Metro is expected to stretch across 30 kilometers, divided into two interconnected routes.
The routes will blend with the existing Green and Red Line Metro, allowing passengers to travel between key areas of the city. DXB Airport will be accessible in just 20 minutes, and RTA has confirmed the project to be 10% completed already. By 2025, the plan will reach its 30% completion, which shows rapid progress.
